Welcome!
My name is Laura Tran. I earned my Ph.D. in Integrated Biomedical Sciences from Rush University. My research focused on how circadian disruption and alcohol consumption impact the colon.
I joined The Scientist as an Assistant Editor in 2023 and I write about recent discoveries in life sciences. I am also a science communication fellow with OMSI.
I have a passion for science communication and love combining art and science in all sorts of educational projects.
When I’m not writing science news stories, you can often find me tending to my houseplants, snapping photos on my trusty 35mm camera, or playing video games.
